Kinneret to Kfar Kish  (26km) INT Part #8

Not sure if you really want to attempt this in one day.  It is not for the faint of heart.  So we broke it up into two hikes, however in the process we managed to add 12km, transforming a 26km one day hike into a 38km two day hike.

Part One - April 20, 2014

Note:  Once you are out of the Jordan river it is very hot, very open, and no opportunity for clean water.

We walked almost 15km this day but only 8km was on this section of the Shvil. The downward arrow on map to the left shows where we stopped for the day.  We exited the trail for Yavniel and tried to hitch a ride on Hwy 767 to no avail. Road walked to the gas station at highway 768 where we find a kind driver.  Below is the marker where we ditched.

Part Two - August 3, 2014

We parked the car east of Yavniel and walked just under 4km to the point where we had exited the route three and a half months earlier.  18km later after having ascended close to 800m and descended 670m we made it to the parking lot on the road to Kfar Kish.  If it wasn't for the miraculous cloud cover that stayed above us for the ascent only (in August no less), I don't know what we would have done.
